Sailing Lake Erie from the Heart of Lorain

Fifty-six modern floating slips, weekly racing, US Sailing accredited classes, and the oldest continuously operating boat club on Lake Erie.

WELCOME

Welcome to LHBC

The Lorain Harbor Boat Club has been the heart of Lake Erie sailing in Lorain, Ohio since 1928. Nestled in the protected basin off the Black River — just a short run from open water — LHBC offers everything a Great Lakes sailor needs: a full-service marina, active racing program, and a tight-knit community of boaters who love this lake.

Whether you're a seasoned offshore racer, a cruising sailor looking for a summer slip, or someone who's always wanted to learn to sail, you'll find your people here. Our Learn to Sail program through the Lorain Boating Education Foundation offers US Sailing-accredited Adult Basic Keelboat instruction, and our Wednesday-night racing fleet welcomes boats of all sizes and ratings.

The club is member-owned and volunteer-run. We keep dues affordable, maintain our facilities to a high standard, and show up for each other on the water. Come see what we've built.
