WHY JOIN

What Membership Includes

Slip Access

Priority access to the 56-slip marina on the Black River. Active members are first in line for slip assignments each season.

Racing

Participate in Wednesday-night PHRF-LE racing and one-off regattas throughout the season. Open to all members with a rated boat.

Community

Join a club of dedicated Lake Erie sailors. Social events, post-race gatherings, and a network of people who love this lake.

BoatUS Discounts

LHBC members are eligible for discounted BoatUS membership — including towing insurance and discounts on fuel, gear, and insurance.

Important: To hold a seasonal slip, you must be an Active (Full) member in good standing. Social members are not eligible for a reserved slip.

Dues are set by the board annually and are subject to change. The figures above reflect 2026 rates. Contact the Secretary for the most current information.

HOW TO APPLY

Membership Application

Submit this form

Fill out the application below. The Secretary will acknowledge receipt within a few days.

Board review

Applications are reviewed at the next regularly scheduled board meeting. The board may request a brief introduction at a club event.

Pay dues

Once approved, the Secretary will email you a QuickBooks payment link. Dues payment completes your membership for the season.

Slip assignment (if desired)

Active members may request a specific slip or size. The Dock Master will confirm your assignment and issue your gate code.
