About our boat basin

The Lorain Harbor Boat Club's boat basin is located along the east side of the Black River about a half mile from the mouth of the river, immediately adjacent to US Coast Guard Station Lorain. The outer walls of the basin were recently replaced and include an integrated structure providing a fish habitat to encourage the proliferation of fish and related creatures along an otherwise barren 30' deep commercial shipping channel. Access to the basin is downriver of the Erie Street lift bridge affording our members unencumbered access to lake Erie.

Lorain Harbor Boat Club's basin features a fully floating dock system. Each dock has access to 30 amp power and water. The basin is covered by a wireless WiFi system for our members and their guests. The basin is surrounded by a security fence with parking available immediately outside the fenced perimeter. Restrooms are available at either end of the basin with shower facilities included at the Clubhouse. The gas dock provides free pump-out service to LHBC members.

The club also feature a number of dry-sail slots for summer storage of trailer'able boats and two 1-ton lifts along the Black River for easy launch and retrieval. Water is available next to the launch area for cleaning of your boat after a day on the water.
