Lake Access to Lorain Harbor Boat Club
The Lorain Harbor Boat Club is located in the "Lorain Boat Basin" and is adjacent to the US Coast Guard Station Lorain. It is on the east side of the Black River between the Erie Street Lift Bridge and Lake Erie so access from the lake does not require passing under the bridge.
When approaching from Lake Erie enter the outer harbor at the Lorain Harbor Light (41-28-52 N, 82-11-43 W, White Flash at night) and proceed SE to the Junction light (41-28-21 N 82-10-57 W) which at night has a 2-1 green flashing light and during the day displays a green-over-red daymark. Be aware that Lorain Harbor is surrounded by a collection of outer breakwalls and the cleanest entry is from the Lorain Harbor Light which is a white tower on the western end of the most outer breakwall. The Junction light is SE of the Lorain Harbor Light and marks the east side of the mouth of the Black River. Stay to the right of the Junction Light. Proceed up the Black River, you'll find our club on your left on the east shore of the Black River.
